open{text magazine Submission Guidelines

Article Guidelines
1) Original or previously written articles (for a course, presentation, etc.) may be submitted.
2) There is no word limit for the articles. Articles can be as short or long as necessary.
3) When relevant, sources should be cited properly using the citation and/or reference style appropriate to discipline.
6) Font should be Times New Roman 12pt.
7) Authors retain all rights to their articles.
8) If authors choose to publish the same article in another venue, we only ask that they contact submissions@opentextmagazine.org so that we may add a link on their article in the open{text magazine online archive, and that they allow us to continue exhibiting the article in the online archive.

Image Guidelines
1) Attach pictures to an email separately from the article file.
2) Send pictures as a JPG files with at least a 300dpi resolution.
3) Each photo or image should have a credit to the photographer or source, e.g. Photo courtesy of (name of source/photographer). We cannot use pictures without attribution
4) Any individuals in the photograph should be named from left to right.
5) Authors are responsible for getting permission to use illustrations or other copyright material in print and/or on the website, and assume responsibility for these images.

Editing Guidelines
1) Keep a sharp focus on the topic of the article. If any terms or subjects are unclear or unfamiliar, supply enough information to help readers understand it. 
2) open{text magazine often edits submitted articles for length, clarity, or to ensure that they are in agreement with the publication’s style. Authors will be given a chance to check any changes. If the author and Editor are unable to agree on revisions, the Editor or the author may terminate the assignment.
3) Once articles have been published on the online archive, they may not be removed without written permission from both the author and the editorial staff.

● Contact the Acquisitions Editor (acquisitions@opentextmagazine.org) before making any submissions and include the following information:
(a) Name
(b) Contact Information
(c) Title of (proposed) article
(d) Profession
(e) Academic and/or Institutional Affiliation, if applicable
Please note that items (b), (d) and (e) will not be published with your article.

● All accepted submissions will be exhibited, full length, on the online archive. However, please note that your accepted article may or may not be published in the print edition.
● Articles published in the print edition may be edited based on its length, and relationship to other articles in the issue.
● Submit the article and images to submissions@opentextmagazine.org
